Young Life Interrupted - A Podcast For Young Caregivers
Are you a 20-40 something caregiver caring for a partner, parent, grandparent, family member or friend? Are you feeling isolated in your caregiving role because no one your age is experiencing the same journey? Are you feeling stress, overwhelm & frustration because you're trying to provide care while maintaining some semblance of a life? And most importantly, are you in desperate need of support & community to help you see the silver linings and celebrate the small wins before you completely burnout? Young Life Interrupted is here with your weekly dose of personal stories, insights and conversations with other caregivers, just like you, and experts who can help guide you in the right direction when it comes to the most pressing questions you have from being abruptly thrown into your care journey and questions that continue to arise throughout it. Your host, Adrienne Glusman, is a change maker and professional speaker on the topic of Millennial Caregiving and former caregiver to her mom who battled Multiple System Atrophy. She helps young caregivers find community and connection to support them through every step of their care journey. Adrienne spent 10 years in her caregiving role, starting at age 29. Having “graduated” from caregiving and being on the other side of it for a year now, through sharing her story and the stories of others, she can help you see a path forward and also what else is possible in your life - as being in a season of caregiving at a young age does not have to be your end all be all. Caregiving at our age is your unfair advantage so if you are looking for support, you’re in the right place! To find out more visit @younglifeinterrupted on Instagram.

Tips to Manage the "Administrative Assistant" Side of Caregiving
What is an often overlooked but crucial aspect of caregiving that tends to get overlooked by those who aren't in the depths of it? The administrative side - the intricate web of paperwork, bureaucracy, and multitasking that caregivers often find themselves entangled in.
I'm thrilled to introduce our special guest today, Jessica O'Hara, a remarkable member of the Young Life Interrupted Facebook group and affectionately known by me as the "Caregiving Admin Queen." Jessica, at 35, has been navigating the challenging path of long-distance caregiving since the age of 29, caring for both her parents. Although her father sadly passed away a few months ago, Jessica continues to provide unwavering support to her mother, who battles Parkinson's disease.
Jessica's unique journey and resilience make her an exceptional caregiver, and her role as a "personal assistant" in managing the intricate back-end aspects of caregiving sets her apart. Today, she graciously joins us to share her wealth of knowledge, accumulated through years of firsthand experience.
As we all know, being a caregiver involves wearing numerous hats, and serving as a "personal assistant" becomes a full-time job in itself—juggling paperwork, phone calls, and forms, among other responsibilities.
In this interview, Jessica opens up about her caregiving experiences, offering valuable insights and lessons learned. We delve into the challenges she has faced, the triumphs she has celebrated, and most importantly, the 10 tips and tricks she has developed for succeeding as a caregiving personal assistant.
