Some things simply shouldn’t be said. When they come from people who don’t understand what you are going through, even well-intentioned comments and questions can be frustrating and hurtful.

I heard a lot of these comments from people who probably should know better but I attributed it to them wanting to help, but not having the correct vocabulary, similar to when someone passes away.  They want to commiserate, show empathy and affection, but don’t understand what to say or do. It’s okay. 

On today's episode, I rounded up a bunch of comments young caregivers have heard from others that are like nails on a chalkboard that I don't doubt will provide a few laughs & LOTS of validation.
